General Description

I just moved back to CA late last year, and am looking for someone to date and hopefully start something real and permanent if we click. I'm at a point in life where I've grown tired of being by myself and I'm ready to settle down. I don't tend to go out much, so it's a challenge to meet guys. I'm not looking for an instant boyfriend. I believe anything real has to develop naturally, but when it happens it happens. Since I've been back in CA the majority of guys who've expressed any interest in me have been younger than 30. I find I'm generally most attracted to guys in the 28-40 range, but nothing is set in stone. Some consider any significant age difference a concern, but I think if the maturity level is there you can overcome the generational differences and even teach each other a lot because of them. I certainly enjoy sex, but right now I'm more interested in real dates...a nice evening together and a simple goodnight kiss kind of thing. Pretty much anyone would describe me as masculine. I'm a DIY kinda guy...I own power tools and everything. HA! I do have those moments when my inner "you go girl" comes out, but typically only in a private setting around family and friends. I'm not really into sports that much, but definitely don't mind it if you are. But I'm also not into the Real Housewives stuff either. I tend to be a bit more of a science geek...pretty much anything on Discovery Channel or History Channel can usually grab my attention...but I also love Sex and the City...and yes I'm a life long Star Wars and Star Trek fan! :) I am a total romantic, and when I like someone I'm dating I like to be able to show affection...holding hands, cuddle on the sofa watching TV, hand on your leg in the car...you get the idea. I've gone out with guys who are a bit more closeted and haven't accepted within themselves that it's ok to be affectionate with another man, and I find it rather frustrating so this one is definitely a requirement. I also want to be able to kiss my man...this is another one where I've dated guys for whom this is a total no go, and that just won't work for me in the long term. Now, that doesn't mean I'm one of those make-out just anywhere kinda guys. If we were in the Castro in San Francisco, I wouldn't think twice about holding my man's hand or other PDAs, but would I walk through the mall in Modesto and do it? Ummm...no.
