The thing I am most grateful for is My HIV. I know that may seem odd, but it is one of the best
things to ever happen to me. It has given me the insight into myself, as well others, I may never have had. I have had some of the most profound people come into my life and pass. They instilled in me God, Love, Hope, and Freedom to be myself, in the face of fear. The fear of which I was or could be, the love and understanding given so freely, not by all or many, but more than a few, set in motion my ability to except having, at 20 years old, HIV. I'm now 44. Though there were many times , as we all have, great strife in our lives, the loss of loved ones, I being the last of 15 men and women that started hanging out in the early 1980's, friends, children from this disease, and to come to a place in my life of peace. These are the greatest gifts given to me. My biggest wish is that we can all find that inner-peace, share it with others, and if you see someone in need reach out. I know that I may not have been able to go on, if it were not for the ones that came before me. I stand on their backs, and I stand 15 people strong! You may be able to knock me down, but I will get up! Then ya better run...lol ;)
