Gay rural is probably closest to what I am. Just a country boy who has moved to the woods after living the big city professional life in Dallas, TX for 30 years.

General Description
Living off-grid adjacent to a kayaking river and the Ozark National Forest with a few good, straight and accepting, neighbors. *********************************************************************************************************************************** I lost my long term partner in 2016 to a tragic accident after being together 18+ years. My partner had major back surgery in 2007 and coupled sex for me of any kind after that was seldom or rare to non-existent at times. Trust me, I tried and never shut the door on the possibility. Regardless, I honored my commitment and didn't have hookups on the side and just suffered from rosy palm syndrome. Hope to find someone near my age (a bit younger or older) that could potentially be a partner on this journey called life. Do you have potential? ;-) ********************************************************************************************************************************* Woodland, perennial, ornamental and square foot vegetable gardener here with a lot of rock moving and the landscaping that goes along with it. Hiking with and spoiling my dog, collecting driftwood, books (more referential than fiction, though I like a good mystery novel), bird watching, and observing nature are other pleasures for me. Watching the progression of witch hazel to service-berry (popcorn trees to me, shad-blow trees to others), then red-bud transitioning to dogwood blooming in the late winter to early spring against the backdrop of the surrounding woods, rocky bluffs or cascading river here on the property or in the adjacent National Forest is like a piece of heaven come here to earth just for me... could just bore others to death, but to each his own. Frequently squirrel, deer and turkey make their appearance and every few years a bear will pass through, so that's always exciting, but my pup, Ranger Hank, lets all critters great and small know we are here. I also like cooking to wine and dine a good man, though honestly, I am out of practice, clear starry nights at the campfire, long walks, summer swims in the river, movie nights at home or heading to one of the nearby big cities for a museum visit, movie or night out. Oh, I also don't mind being cooked FOR or cooking WITH as long as we don't BOTH add the spices; to the food that is! I'd like to kayak or canoe more on the river. Occasional family member visits here or to my childhood hometown in a neighboring state are enjoyable and important to me. ********************************************************************************************************************************** I am currently building a home on a bluff overlooking the river on my east property line with lumber I milled here, along with a hobby woodworking shop/ studio. An arched tin roof porch, overlooking the river, to sit under in the rain will be an important design feature, as it was to my deceased Father in his childhood and that he instilled in me as a kid when he placed coffee cans under the eave drips to remind him of growing up in a tin roofed house in the depression before becoming an army silver and gold star medal veteran, lawyer and judge and father to six children, with me the next to youngest. The elevated home I am building above the workshop will have a rustic modern industrial exterior and interior, at least that's what I'm shooting for, but some currently selected finishes may morph along the way into something else. I'm not sure why I am on this web site, since getting out of the Airstream I am currently comfortably "tiny-living" in and into the more open concept permanent home has to be my priority right now. Since it's been raining a lot lately and construction prep halts when weather doesn't cooperate, I have been seeing what/ who is out there. Who knows lightning could strike and the one I'm looking for sees this and is interested, though you'd probably have to bear with me while I complete my projects. "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained". Guess you could call me an optimist. *********************************************************************************************************************************** Take care men and thanks for allowing me to share a bit of myself.
